Paper Mosaic/ Collages 

These collages are recreated famous paintings, made entirely from National Geographic magazines.

Ilene Gold resides in Baltimore, Maryland where she teaches art to young children, handcrafts jewelry, paints and creates collage artwork.  A graduate from the University of Maryland, majoring in Graphic Arts, with continuing studies in Fine Arts at MICA and writing at John Hopkins University. She worked as a graphic designer for advertising agencies from Barton-Gillet to Lewis Advertising. While living in Florida, she worked for Recommended and Boca Raton Magazine. She has taught art at Grace United Methodist Church, Baltimore Hebrew Sunday School, The Painting Workshop, Johns Hopkins Art Camp, Park Camp and Howard County Center for the Arts. Her photography from the US, Europe, and the Middle East has won her awards, and been published in national magazines. Juried art shows of her work have been exhibited at Howard County Center of the Arts, Tri- Temple Art Show, Artscape, Xiamen China- Traveling Photos Show, and Maryland Annual Photography Show.
